Legoland Malaysia

Legoland Malaysia was part of our Singapore trip in October 2014. Allocating just a day for the theme park is fine since it’s located in Johor Bahru which only takes less than an hour from Singapore.

The park has seven themed areas including The Beginning, LEGO® Technic, LEGO Kingdoms, Imagination, LEGO City, Land of Adventure, and MINILAND. Colossal brick formations are abundant in the park.

Apart from the rides, there’s a designated area wherein several iconic places are replicated using the famous Lego bricks.

While Legoland Malaysia is impressive, it’s not for adults who are fond of exhilarating rides. The park has a handful of thrilling rides but I consider them the milder versions of other parks' rides.

Legoland Malaysia was apparently built with kids in mind so it’s not fair to compare it with Universal Studios Singapore. Several characters from the LEGO Movie also welcome guests.

If you’re coming from Singapore, there’s no need to exchange your SGD to MYR because all souvenir shops and restaurants accept SGD. I mostly bought notebooks and photo frames. There’s also a shop which allows you to customize three Lego figures. You can choose the head, body/outfit, and accessory of each figure. Once done, they will enclose the figures in a Legoland Malaysia case.

If you plan to shop in Johor Bahru, take note that the park does not allow re-entry. You may consider staying in Legoland Hotel and even do a side trip to Hello Kitty Town which is also near. Our coach transfers were courtesy of WTS Travel whose pick-up point is in Singapore Flyer.
