Given
the soaring fame of Tagaytay when it comes to weddings, it’s a delight to see
an affair like Kasalang
Tagaytay that
puts the spotlight on wedding suppliers from the South. The event was wonderful!
Apart from the booths' charming decors, the suppliers were pleasant. We
previously went to a bridal fair in Rockwell and this one was just as intimate.

One Direction in Manila 2015 and What the Brit Crooners Wore
April 6, 2015
When I
started going out with Aujen, I used to tease him for his fascination
for “mainstream” music. The tides turned when the One Direction bug bit me. As
much as I want to think that I’m not a full-fledged Directioner, I can’t deny
that 1D’s upbeat songs are helpful every morning.
I
watched the first night of Manila’s “On the Road Again” tour with my cousin
(who’s way younger than me). It was the boys’ first OTRA show sans Zayn Malik
but they managed to enliven the crowd. Even if they were allegedly instructed
to be “extra entertaining,” I found their antics natural. It rained when they
performed “One Thing” but instead of being squeamish, Harry Styles even laid
down on the stage.
Belle de Jour 2013 Fair: Make It Happen
October 31, 2013
Two
weeks ago, I was able to attend the launch of the Belle de Jour 2014 planner.
While I’ve been using the dainty planners for five years now, I’m still
thrilled to see what the team has to offer.
The
fair itself is very fun! Like last year’s Belle de Jour fair, Mall
of Asia’s Music Hall served as an avenue for exciting activities and enriching
talks.
Of Princess Crowns and Graceful Glides on Ice
April 7, 2013
I might be 21 but that
day, I felt like I was part of the crowd. That crowd, if you will ask me,
consisted of girls prancing around in their sparkly tiaras and fluffy costumes.
It's as if they were there to support the Disney princess that they fancy.
Disney's Princesses on
Ice was such a timely and thoughtful gift
from my boyfriend since our Disneyland trip
was pushed to a later date. He seemed pretty much oblivious to the fact that we
were surrounded by giggling starry-eyed kiddos. The show took place last
January 2 at the Araneta Coliseum but not-so-recent happenings made me wander for quite some time.
Belle de Jour 2012 Limitless Fair - Deux
October 20, 2012
Apart from the unveiling of the planner, what made this event exciting was the lineup
of guest speakers. You can really see the effort of the whole team to invite
speakers who will surely inspire Bellas. For the 2012 fair, I was
able to hear four out of six talks.
Style Me Over by
Jasmine Mendiola
Her talk involved tips on
how you could reinvent your style regardless of the presented situations. She talked about the importance of timelessness in dressing up.
Belle de Jour 2012 Limitless Fair - Un
October 18, 2012
A planner is not just a mere compilation of
paper sheets, it's a lifestyle. When you're a BDJ girl, it's as if you are a
part of something inexplicable. No, it's not a cult-like thing but BDJ has this
way of empowering its Bellas. Whether you're a true-blue planner user or simply
a curious gal, the yearly BDJ fair is something which you shouldn't miss.
Disney Stars Remarkably Rockin' Manila
September 11, 2012
If
there’s something that I cannot forget about Disney, it is its unexplainable
effect to people of all ages. Whether you’re four or forty, the happiness of
Disney’s whole gang is so contagious! Yesterday’s Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Show was so delightful that even the
soft-spoken girl in me couldn’t help but holler out. Ready for some Disney
star-sighting?
Marry Me at Marriott?
September 4, 2012
Hi lovelies! Who disagrees that weddings are
not magical affairs? Regardless of a wedding's simplicity, the thought and
effort put into it are amazing. I had the chance to attend a wedding fair at Marriott Manila last August 25. It was a two-day event
exhibiting the country's classiest wedding merchants. From wedding bands to
layered cakes, everything that will make a to-wed couple's heart giddy was
there.
Ian Somerhalder for Penshoppe: The Man behind the Dreamy Gaze
May 25, 2012
To say that Penshoppe
is surpassing its limits when it comes to endorsers is an understatement. In
less than a year, Penshoppe was able to snatch some of Tinseltown’s hottest
stars to represent the brand. Just when I thought Penshoppe’s done with its mission,
news circulated that another male-slash-hot commodity would be in town.
Lo and behold, it’s
Ian Somerhalder! Even if my heart longs for the ever-compassionate Stefan, this
older Salvatore never fails to intrigue me. Tell me, who can resist that gaze?
Dream-sprinkled Cupcakes
March 27, 2012
What’s more heartwarming than spending a
Saturday with your face smeared with flour and your hands spattered with icing
while kids excitedly recount their dreams?
Living Life to the Fullest: Belle de Jour 2011 Fair
October 18, 2011
Imagine a high-style afternoon with plenty of
fun thrown in – that’s what Belle de Jour events are. For the past week, I’ve
been so keyed up with the 2012 planner launch. Last Sunday, I asked two of my cousins and my
boyfriend to accompany me to Eastwood
Mall Open
Park . We left my house at
11AM and thank heavens there was no heavy traffic so we arrived at the venue
after two hours.
Wingardium Leviosa! Let Your Imagination Fly with These Harry Potter-Inspired Events
July 24, 2011
As the whole Harry
Potter team wraps up the final volume of the epic wizardry series, I’m sure
9754326578192 fans are still under the OMG-HP-is-over-what-am-I-gonna-do?
spell. More than ten years ago, I remember seeing hundreds of little brown
paperbacks inside National Book Store’s glass shelves during one of my weekend
book shopping trips. They were fresh commodities then so there’s no way I would
let go of a copy.

WickeRmoss's Chic Clinique Party
June 25, 2011
Last year, in one of
my Journalism classes, I decided to report about companies that test their
products on animals. It was a very enlightening discussion because of the
tormenting photos which I showed. I likewise distributed a “Do Test/Don’t Test”
list of companies directly downloaded from Leaping Bunny. From thereon, I made a
mental note to only support beauty companies that abhor animal torture.
Clinique’s one of the companies that fall under the category of “Don’t Test”.
Baguio City's Blooming Bazaar
April 21, 2011
Bazaars. Who doesn’t
love them? Imagine a long strip of stalls offering interesting finds at
rock-bottom prices. Even if you don’t intend to shop, it’s okay, because you’re
in for a delightful visual treat when you visit bazaars.
As an unofficial
Baguio City resident (because I’ve been staying in-and-out of the city for four
years now), I feel excited when the month of February looms in because of the
Panagbenga (“season of blooming”) Festival – a month-long celebration composed
of dances, pageants, and shows. The festival’s highlight is the last weekend of
the month wherein grand flower-adorned floats are paraded. There’s an enormous
scattering of celebrities and of course, tourists everywhere.
